2021 Music Festivals
Let's be brutally honest. The big music festivals are unlikely to get the go ahead until the current pandemic is under control. It is difficult to say when that will happen but it is very unlikely festivals with large crowds will take place until the bulk of the population is vaccinated. Several major music festivals have dates pencilled in but not surprising line ups are yet to be announced. At the start of 2021 the most optimistic festival organisers would have to be Coachella. God Bless their enthusiasm. They had their festival earmarked for April 2021. Sadly, on the January 30, 2021 the organisers announced the cancellation of the 2021 Coachella festival. Don't be surprised if other festivals follow. Lollapalooza, the Pitchfork Music Festival and Riot Fest are three major festivals with dates set for later in the year. Not surprisingly all of these festivals have yet to announce their line ups. Although festivals might not happen in the near future they will restart. In the meantime, let's enjoy Rage Against the Machine who were scheduled to headline the cancelled 2020 Coachella.
Arcade Fire recently released a single on the Stephen Colbert Show. Maybe they have an album in the wings. They are a great live act so fingers crossed they make an appearance when the music festivals get up and running again.
The Foo Fighters are another great act live and they love to play in front of big festival crowds.
