Dazey and the Scouts
Dazey and the Scouts were a Boston based Riot Grrrl band with a passion for feminist punk music. The Scouts released one album 'Maggot' with limited attention before they disbanded. Roll forward four years and the band's music has exploded in popularity across the Globe. 'Wet' is a song that has gone into TikTok overdrive much to the surprise of the Scouts' former band members.
The Scouts are the musical equivalent of Vincent Van Gogh. The Scouts re-mastered 'Maggot' in pink vinyl to celebrate the four year anniversary of the album's original release. It sold out in six minutes. 'Sweet Cis Teen' is a song on the album that is my favorite. I find it haunting.
Dazey and the Scouts, sadly, have no intention of getting back together. They reflected in a recent interview that it was a fun time but they have all moved on. This is a band that deserves an encore for inspiring a new generation to pick up the guitar and make some noise.
