The Beaches
The Beaches are a pop punk band from Toronto. To-date they have released two studio albums and a swag of EPs. The Beaches hit the ground running in 2018 with the release of their debut album 'Late Show'. 'Money' was the first single from the album and there is a lot to like about this song. The song was nominated for the SOCAN Songwriting Prize. It didn't win but it was a worthy contender. Have a listen.
The second single 'T-Shirt' grew the band's fan base and went to number 1 on the Canadian Rock Charts. The band also went on to win Juno Award's Breakthrough Group of the Year in 2018. They also toured with the Rolling Stones as their support act for the Canadian leg of their 2019 'No Filter' Tour.
Sadly, not everything went the band's way. They did not attract the same level of attention in the US and were dropped by their record label. It is a cruel business but the band brushed off the setback and went on to produce their second album 'Blame My Ex'. The album was released via AWA (Artists without a Label). The first single from the album was 'Blame Brett' and it went viral on TikToc, attracting global fans.
'What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Paranoid' is another song from the album that captures the band's new direction.
The band is on a North American tour to promote the new album. Most shows are sold out but I believe some tickets are still available at a few venues. If you are interested check out the bands website for dates and tickets.
